What's a Model United Nations?

It's a simulation of the United Nations committees and agencies and other International Organisms.

How did the first Model United Nations started? 

The first MUN was celebrated in 1953 in the University of Harvard and since then this concept has been developed and getting bigger and bigger, it's actually realized in all languages in the world and in most of the countries.

Who may participate in a MUN? 

Every single student of high school and Universities, around the world.

 

What's a MUN conference? 

A Model is a cultural and educational event where students participate, but also  get trained themselves about international policy and the UN operation, they also get a global vision of the world where they develop their lives.

 

What's a MUN delegate? 

It's a student who decides to assume the roll of an Amabassador on a MUN event, an ambassador doesn't have to be an expert at public relations, anyone can participate in a MUN, it is just enough to be interested of learning new things and doing teamwork to try to make a difference en the world. The students of a MUN tend to become big leaders in politics, law, business and teaching. 

 

Why do I have to participate in a MUN? 

Because it promotes the interest of the teachers and students on international relations and related topics, improving the capabilities of the students for solving problems. And their communication and documentation skills, like debate, public speaking, negotiation, persuasion and gives them the opportunity of meeting interesting and cool people.

What are the benefits of a MUN? 

 In more than 60 years already, teachers and students have been benefited and they have enjoyed with this great interactive educative experience, that not only involve youth with the study and discussion about global topics, but also encourages the develop of useful abilities along their lives, some of them: redaction, research, problems resolution, agreements, cooperation, and consensus building.
